BURN YOUR CONCERNS

For this brief we attempted to tackle the task of changing the public’s perception of AfrikaBurn to reflect the movement’s perception of itself. We decided to target “Budding Burners” who are hesitant about AfrikaBurn but have considered going.

This was done by making this group feel inspired by the AfrikaBurn movement and reassuring them that they will belong in the playful and silly environment. We did this by
playing with the medium of collage within our animated poster designs and stop-motion videos. These will live on AfrikaBurn's social media creating  awareness around our “Burning Questions meet-ups”.

Our stop-motion videos encouraged Budding Burners to “Burn your concerns” and come to the Burning Questions meet-ups to ask the questions that have been on their mind. We created burn books which will be passed around at the following AfrikaBurn.

The goal for these Burn Books is for seasoned burners to add stories, memories and tips in a more tangible way for future burners to read through and engage with. This was done to create a sense of community and encourage the spirit of giving and collaboration. Finally we redesigned the website to fit in with our theme and improve the overall
user experience.
